About the Founder
Mariah A. Romero is the founder, maker, and curator behind The Original Marstore. A heartfelt blend of vintage flair, self-expression, and handcrafted care. Born in Boyle Heights and raised across the San Gabriel Valley, Mariah proudly calls East Los Angeles home. Her deep love for her city, its culture, its resilience, and style is stitched into every part of the Marstore, from the nostalgic vibes to the name itself, an homage to her parents’ first online business, Marstore805.
With a background in social work and a lifelong passion for beauty, style, and storytelling, Mariah built her shop to be more than just a store... it’s a space to reclaim joy, honor identity, and indulge in everyday luxuries that make you feel like you. Whether she’s creating small-batch skincare using herbal infusions or curating pieces for the Vintage Vault, everything is done with intention, creativity, and love.
Supported by her family and her husband Ernesto, Mariah’s vision is rooted in authenticity, sharing treasures that nourish, inspire, and uplift. At its core, The Marstore is a celebration of culture, self-expression, and the power of feeling good in your own skin (and vintage dress).
